Social media

Story promos, such as the one to the right, which my cowriter and I made on Canva, allow us to share our best and timeliest articles with El Estoque's thousands of Instagram followers, allowing for greater audience engagement.

El Estoque posts on Instagram almost daily, covering both schoolwide and citywide events. Subjects of our photos, usually students at MVHS, often comment and share EE posts, like in my post below, which widens our social media reach.

Web

In my stories, I've utilized various multimedia tools to hook and inform my readers in unique ways. Photo galleries, maps and social media embeds are all interesting, interactive and informative. I've also brought News Quizzes back to El Estoque; short, 10-question tests on news from a given month. These short tests also challenge readers in a fun way.

My editorial "Opinion detected, women rejected," utilizes both a photo gallery and social media embeds. Consequently, it has become the third-most viewed story on El Estoque's website from 2024-2025. One thing I could have improved on for this story's engagement is using an SEO-friendly headline which details what the story will be about, rather than a punny or clever headline.
