I created a presentation about covering politics based on an existing presentation by former EIC Samika Bhatkar, which I gave at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Spring Convention and NorCal Media Day. It covers topics like staying safe when covering politics, the laws in various states, keeping your community civically engaged and more.

With the heads team of El Estoque, I created a policy to protect students or interviewees who, if they used their real names on the byline of a story, might be at risk of retribution because of their immigration status. This was a major part of my presentation, and fellow student journalists told me they would adopt this policy of allowing anonymity.
